The CTE/FCAT Connection Projects are designed to provide career and technical education teachers a curriculum that integrates the Sunshine State Standards with standards for identified Career and Technical education courses. Each project contains activities that directly link to FCAT preparation and to essential work skills.

Research data has been used to crosswalk the Career and Technical Education frameworks and Sunshine State Standards with the items tested on the FCAT and with essential skills required for employment. This information provides a roadmap for lesson planning and for the development of rigorous and relevant lessons/projects.

Research used to design the projects is based upon the following: The CTE Curriculum Matrix for Florida , developed by the International Center for Leadership in Education; Florida DOE FCAT Specifications for Science, Math, and Language Arts; Curriculum Survey of Essential Skills developed by the International Center for Leadership in Education; and the Florida DOE Frameworks for identified courses.
