About Techno Camp

A group of 200 7th and 8th grade students from Volusia and Flagler schools are getting “hands-on” experience in the Techno Summer Camp at the Advanced Technology College in Daytona Beach.  The two-week camp began last week.

The students are focusing on web design, digital media, robotics, engineering/manufacturing, drafting/construction, gaming/simulation and automotive performance.   Week two is now is session, running weekdays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The free camp, which is being taught by faculty from Daytona State College, Volusia County Schools and Flagler County Schools, will wrap up at a closing ceremony at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 26, at the Advanced Technology College, 1770 Technology Boulevard, Daytona Beach.   The ceremony will feature student projects and will include a presentation of information regarding career and technical options for students and adults.  Options include career academies, secondary career and technical courses, and the certificate, A.S. Degree and Bachelor Degree opportunities at Daytona State College and postsecondary options at the Flagler Technical Center.
